Pinterest

This blog has been neglected because I've been posting all my hopes and dreams elsewhere: Pinterest, my new favorite way to get inspired. Pinterest is so easy--it posts with a click of a button, and you can see what beautiful and clever things your friends are posting as well. And then you can repost those things and other people will think you are beautiful and clever, when really, it's just your friends. You can follow my boards by going here.

And I'd love to follow yours--it would make me that more beautiful and clever.

The LCW Chair

I'll get you, my pretty. And your little dog, too.

For the most part the room is a snooze,
but I see a little guy in the corner I'd like to take home with me.

Here are some just by their lonesome, begging to be adopted into a good home.
My home.

Land and Sky

Either of these landscape oils
painted by Katrina Schmidt-Rinke.
Huge in scale.
Hung in my bedroom above my bed.
Or in the family room.
Or anywhere for that matter.
Stat.

Graphic Patterned Tile

I'm not a big fan of tile for logistical reasons
(it's cold, it's echoey, it always feels gritty, it can chip and break)
but this tile I could do in a small space like an entry way.
Too big of a room and geometric/graphic pattern tile would make too big of a statement,
but in small quarters, it works.

Boy

I may never have a boy.
And that's ok.
Really.
But if I do, I will dress him like this.
Like a little man.
Like a little Oliver Twist...
minus the street urchin/orphan part.

Big Ole Paper Lanterns

Like Wit & Whistle said: Paper lanterns are cheap and make a big statement.
Plus, they give off a nice soft glowy light.
I've always been a fan of paper lanterns.
I've had several in my day.
Currently, we have one medium sized one in our small front room
but I wouldn't mind a couple of huge ones someday.

I Am So Going to Do This with #4

Photographing fruits and vegetables that are comparable to the size of the baby in utero.
What a cool idea.
(and no that was not an announcement.)

Idea and photo snagged from Carolee Beckham.

This Room Right Above The Eating Area

Books, floor to ceiling.
Exposed beams
Light and airy.
Seen here.

Really Feeling This Eating Area

Rustic wood floors and table mixed with modern chairs and lighting.
Chalkboard wall right there for the kids.
Huge french doors to let the light in.
What I think might be MOSS AS A CENTER PIECE.
Clean, natural and effortless.
Snagged off of decorpad, a site I could spend my whole entire life looking at.

Delicious Geniusness

Fortune cookie change purses. Duh.

I Like Everything About This Scene

Ferns, ivy, a big bug, a wood shelf, white washed wood floor, sunlight.

Stumpy

A couple of months ago, I was at a party and around the house there were these stumps of wood, de-barked, sanded, shellacked and used as side tables. The guy made them himself. They were beautiful. Since then, I've seen things like it here and there on design blogs but I think I like this take better--I like how this stump is crazy and mangled and looks like it was plucked right out of the ground, more organic. It reminds me of the beaches on the Pacific Northwest for some reason, which I have good childhood memories of.

If I Have to Live in Las Vegas

Then this is what I hope a good bit of my yard will look like.
No me gusta pink rocks.

Inspired

I'd like to start drawing the images I see and like on The Satorialist.
These are some I've found that are particularly inspiring,
some for the subject's gesture, others for their texture or pattern or just overall feel.

Totem Poles

I have a feeling I'd need to make about 500 of these to get them out of my system.
My mind is swimming with possibilities.

These Are Things That Go Together Well
