Graphic Patterned Tile

I'm not a big fan of tile for logistical reasons

(it's cold, it's echoey, it always feels gritty, it can chip and break)

but this tile I could do in a small space like an entry way.

Too big of a room and geometric/graphic pattern tile would make too big of a statement,

but in small quarters, it works.

Big Ole Paper Lanterns

Like Wit & Whistle said: Paper lanterns are cheap and make a big statement.

Plus, they give off a nice soft glowy light.

I've always been a fan of paper lanterns.

I've had several in my day.

Currently, we have one medium sized one in our small front room

but I wouldn't mind a couple of huge ones someday.

I Like Everything About This Scene

Ferns, ivy, a big bug, a wood shelf, white washed wood floor, sunlight.

Stumpy

A couple of months ago, I was at a party and around the house there were these stumps of wood, de-barked, sanded, shellacked and used as side tables. The guy made them himself. They were beautiful. Since then, I've seen things like it here and there on design blogs but I think I like this take better--I like how this stump is crazy and mangled and looks like it was plucked right out of the ground, more organic. It reminds me of the beaches on the Pacific Northwest for some reason, which I have good childhood memories of.
